The Late Great Rebellion

Some songs are written, some write themselves, this one defies both standards.
I was working on the Wildwood, N.J. Boardwalk about to be a high school senior. My friends managed to jump ship before committing to the company, so I found myself alone, disoriented and hot at the end of long days hustling Tourists, with only a dusty balcony and my devoted Guitar. This song poured out of me one night at Sunset, giving the entire summer -- and my entire existence -- a new level of meaning and joy
I used to hold tight with a fine gang of thieves,
Back when the Rebellion didn't charge any fees,
We robbed from the rich, we never said please,
We knew what the game was about...
